Captain
Andy Lytle was born in the UK and grew up in the West Country, by the water. His family are sailing fanatics and he was messing about in boats before he could walk. After completing a degree in Genetics at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne Andy’s inate passion for the sea overruled and he chose to pursue a career in the yachting industry. His first position was on the 55m Schooner Adela and he has diligently worked his way up the industry, working on well known charter yachts such as Catalyst of Fal, Mirabella V, Drumbeat and becoming Captain of Sea Shuttle. After 10 years, thousands of sea miles and a wealth of experience he is now the Captain of Gitana and is ready to continue the high standards and reputation of the yacht.
Engineer
Kevin Brown was born in America. Now aged 31, he has been working on both private and charter sail and power yachts for 10 years. Kevin holds a diploma from the Landing School in Marine Systems Technology. He also possesses a USCG 200 Ton Near Coastal Masters Ticket. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys hikinng, golfing and snowboarding.
Mate
Hector Molini was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His parents say his love for the sea started when he was plunged into the sea as an infant. While living by the water the first part of his life and spending time on his grandfather’s boat, Hector’s infatuation with the ocean grew. Before long he was limited to summers by the water so when it came down to choosing a university the College of Charleston was unrivaled. For his summer job he would head north to work on the docks at a Newport Shipyard in Newport, RI until graduating with a Bachelors of Science in International Business and a minor in Spanish. Newport was his inspiration to join the yachting industry, so he moved to Antigua where he later joined Gitana as a deckhand. Hector is a hard-working and sociable individual who wants to ensure that all guests enjoy their time on the boat.
Chef
Claudia Salomon grew up in the German country side with a family who had a strong interest in cooking. Having learnt to cook from a young age, she extended her knowledge by travelling the world and completing several courses such as a diploma and a sushi course. Fuelled by her irrepressible creative spirit, Claudia soon ended up in the galley and hasn’t looked back since. Her extensive menu is primarily influenced by Mediterranean, Spanish, French and Asian foods. Whilst onboard Claudia will be sure to please your palate with her passion for inventive, yet honest cuisine.
Stewardess
Melba Quinn was born in Port Douglas, a small vibrant town in Tropical North Queensland, Australia, rich in biodiversity. Melba grew up on a small private island surrounded by the ‘Daintree World Heritage Rainforest’ and the world famous ‘Great Barrier Reef’. Taking advantage of a pristine area, her family ran a business of taking guests to experience the full wonder and diverse life of coral reefs and ancient rainforests. It seemed only natural to continue her knowledge of hospitality and love of the sea, and combine it with travelling to all corners of the globe. After completing numerous yacht courses, she ventured to work on super yachts and use her talents to become a keen, hard working stewardess, and make the guests as comfortable as possible. Melba is a keen artist and enjoys fashion & design, photography, diving & snorkeling, sailing, hiking and cycling.
