Captain: Wally Tarbert

Crew Profiles: Captain:
Walter Tarbert was raised in Ohio. Wally attended an aeronautical college and was a pilot for US Airways for many years. He sail boat raced for fifteen years and decided a career change to yachting was in order. He has spent the past ten years in Florida. Wally and Brie met in Key West, Florida, and just celebrated their wedding in June.
Chief Engineer:
Eddie Sands has been working on private yachts for over nine years after starting in the marine engineering industry in Norfolk, Virginia. Eddie completed an apprenticeship while working for a civilian naval contracting company and held a top secret security clearance. Eddie moved on to NASA, Langley Research Center, where he performed maintenance and assisted with various stress loads, hydro and aerodynamic testing. Eddie has always been drawn to the sea where he enjoys fishing, diving, surfing and exploring new places and cultures.
First Mate:
Angus Cowan was brought up in an army family so he traveled from an early age. Several jobs post school included tennis coaching and event management in London. Angus started his yachting career in delivering sailboats and has been in the yachting industry for seven years. He is married to Louisa who is a freelance writer, currently in England.
Bosun:
Gabriel Sayles was raised in Salisbury and attended Oxford Brookes University, achieving a Sports Science Degree. Gabe has coaching qualifications in football, rugby and tennis. Following the family tradition, Gabe started working in the yachting industry five years ago, and has worked on several busy charter boats.
Deckhand:
Dallas Agius grew up on Avalon, one of Sydney’s northern beaches. He has a love of all water sports including surfing, water skiing, spear fishing, wakeboarding and sailing. For three years, Dallas worked land based in the hospitality industry, but wanted to follow something that he truly loved: yachts and the ocean.
Chef:
Kin Hong was born in Taiwan and grew up in Houston from the age of two. After moving to Seattle, Kin attended The Art Institute, and then trained and apprenticed under French chefs and kitchens for five years. Kin worked on cruise ships sailing in Hawaii for a year, then was introduced to private vessels and moved to Fort Lauderdale to pursue his career in the yachting industry.
Chief Stewardess:
Jemma Stapleton was born on The Isle of Wight, England, so being involved in sailing was inevitable. After working in retail and hospitality, Jemma went on to sail across the Atlantic Ocean and then to work on motor yachts in various places including The Seychelles. In her spare time, Jemma enjoys water sports, walking and singing karaoke!
Second Stewardess/Purser: Brie Stiver was raised in Pennsylvania and has brought to Vita four years of hospitality experience. Graduating with an Elementary/Special Education degree, Brie moved to The Florida Keys. She was first involved with special needs children and incorporating interaction with dolphins (animal therapy), and then in the restaurant industry in Key West. Brie met Wally while living in Key West, and soon after that she started her career in the yachting industry. She enjoys shopping, jogging and reading a good book while at the beach.
Third Stewardess:
Kristen Horrick grew up on the lakes in Muskoka, Canada, and has been boating all her life. After studying Esthetics for two years, she joined the spa industry but had always wanted to pursue a career on yachts. A year ago she decided the yachting industry was just the thing for her. Her interests include traveling, photography and reading.
