Crew Profiles: Captain - Paul S. Knox - United States
Paul grew up in upstate New York and began yachting in Michigan in 1986 after serving 9 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He has served as Mate and Captain on various yachts over the past 20 years. Paul took a short break from the warm tropical waters of yachting in 1993 and served as Chief Mate aboard a Bering Sea commercial longliner in Alaska. He enjoys helping guests enjoy breathtaking views and magnificent holidays throughout the world. Paul and his wife Lo-ami split their home time between Pompano Beach FL and Kareehoek in South Africa.
Purser Lo-ami Knox - United States & South Africa
Lo-ami was raised on a 176 000 acre ranch in central South Africa, Lo-ami studied culinary arts for 3 years at Silwood Kitchen, Cordon Bleu Academy in Cape Town. Working as sous-chef at the prestigious Signita game reserve, she provided fine dining for the guests vacationing at the �Relais and Chateaux� safari resort. Lo-ami has been yachting since then, sailing from the Caribbean and the East Coast of the United States to the Mediterranean.
Chef - Richard Boxell - Australia
My family moved between the UK and Australia several times before finally settling down in Perth Western Australia. After a 4 year apprenticeship in several of Perth�s 5 star hotels and fine dinning restaurants I embarked on my first Asian travel experience which lasted over a year. This truly gave me my passion for travel and my taste for international cuisine.
Since then Richard has built, owned and operated two of his own restaurants and has worked as a chef in many places around the globe. Five years ago he eventually came back to his passion of travel and decided to be a yacht chef. Bon Appetite��.
Sous Chef/Steward - Todd Anderson � United States
Todd grew up in Sonoma County California. After high school, he attended the University of He was fortunate enough to study in Florence, Italy where he studied art, architecture, and Italian. His hobbies and interests include: architecture (theory/practice/design), languages, travel, culture, music, food, wine (bred into Todd from his wine country routes). He plans to finish his studies with a Masters in Architecture in the future, but does not feel pressed for time regarding the matter. Todd is completely happy experiencing the world through yachting.
Chief Engineer - Kevin Rooney � United States
Kevin grew up in Wisconsin, and is a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy attaining dual degrees in Marine Engineering and Nautical Science He holds both U.S. Coastguard & Cayman Islands Chief Engineer Unlimited Licenses. Having served many years on several other large Feadships, Kevin has an extremely sound and competent knowledge of Huntress� engine room & mechanical systems, ensuring that the yacht�s functioning and safety are never compromised. He was also the build engineer on a 60m Feadship at the Royal Van Lent yard.
He enjoys traveling and exploring new lands and now makes Hawaii his home.
2nd Engineer - Michael Slack � Canadian
Michael joins Huntress after spending ten years in the Turks & Caicos Islands, working in the diving industry as an instructor and photographer. Originally from Kingston, Ont. Canada, Michael called the mountains of British Columbia home for the past few years before the call of the ocean brought him back to the yachting industry. In his spare time Michael enjoys replacing his shammy with a golf club and spending time on the links.
Head Stewardess - Ainsley Gower � Canadian
Ainsley is from beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, which is world renowned for Butchart Gardens and high tea at the Empress Hotel. Growing up Ainsley spent her summers at her family�s summer cottage on the ocean in Canada. She started her yachting career nearly 7. She maintains a passion for traveling, good food and great wine and will make each guest�s trip onboard M/Y Huntress as memorable as possible. Since joining yachting Ainsley has spent 3 seasons in Alaska and Canada and 4 in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
2nd Stewardess - Stephanie Reed - USA
After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2006, Stephanie found the need to wander irresistible. She spent time volunteering as a teacher in the Marshall Islands, working as a scientist in Boston, and traveling in North Africa. She was later introduced to yachting in 2007 by her sister who is a large yacht chef. She looks forward to the challenge of perfecting the "stewardess finesse" on board Huntress.
Stewardess - Laura Wilson - United States
Laura was brought up on the Big Island of Hawaii, surrounded by an abundance of outdoor activities and always ready for an adventure whether it�s camping, surfing, snowboarding, learning new languages, or exploring new places. Luckily having a pilot for a father, she�s been traveling at each and every opportunity. She received her bachelor�s degree at Marymount University, just outside the Washington D.C. area, in 2005. Several countries, states, and islands later, she embarked upon the world of yachting. On her list of things to do: learn to speak French and Italian, return to Brazil, learn to scuba dive, and start the play the piano again.
Stewardess - Jessica Schultz - USA
Jessica joins us from the Grand Canyon state. While attending the University of Arizona, Jessica spent her summers working on a ranch teaching kids how to ride horses and eventually graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. After working three years as a graphic designer for a great little company, she decided to try something new and different. With her belongings all safely boxed up in her parents' garage, she headed to Florida to explore the adventures of yachting. Among other things, she enjoys traveling, the outdoors, baking, photography, painting and often finds it hard to put down a good book.
First Officer - Wade Riley � Australian
First Officer Wade hails from Shelley Beach Australia, 2 hours North of Sydney. Prior to joining Huntress in April 2008 he spent 3 years on Super yachts in the South Pacific visiting amazing destinations like Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga and the Great Barrier Reef. Wade has a love of water sports particularly surfing, swimming and fishing and would like to add that ALL his fishing stories are completely true. Wade is looking forward to a busy Mediterranean season and exploring new destinations.
Bosun - Anton Hristov � Bulgarian
Anton comes from Varna, the Bulgarian Black Sea pearl. On age of 27 he has over a decade of hospitality background as he worked in numerous of bars, restaurants as well as the biggest hotel chain and most popular cruise lines. After such a journey he finally found home in yachting and is willing to devote himself to the industry. His dream is for the Black Sea to become one of the most popular yachting destinations. Tony is very sports oriented, he competed gymnastics in high school, also enjoys all water and winter sports, fitness and yoga.
Deckhand - Tom Hill - British
After being raised in England by academic parents Tom went to Wales University at Swansea where he earned a BA with honors in Egyptology. Upon graduation Tom worked in the international financial regulatory field. This stimulated his urge to travel. In 2009 he joined the yachting industry at entry level and aspires to earn his maritime license.
Deckhand - Ryan Keany - USA
Ryan�s family comes from Alexandria Virginia where after high school he found himself crewing sport fishing vessels on the outer banks of NC. Eventually this lead Ryan to his first USCG license. To further his young maritime career Ryan sought out the mega yacht industry in Florida. He joins Huntress in 2009 having worked on two previous yachts in the Caribbean.
