Captain Arno Hess of Switzerland, traded his engineering career, his interest in a pro sportswear company and his hobby of motorcycle racing to pursue a life on the sea.
After his father purchased the historic classic yacht Hitauk, Arno set about restoring her to a beautiful luxury cruiser. Upon completing her restoration, and after obtaining his 400 ton Captain's License, sailed her across the Atlantic and has been happily providing countless charters aboard Hitauk for many years in the waters of the Caribbean. In July the owners of motor yacht Obsession approached him to run their yacht in charter. They were drawn to him through knowledge of his skills of Captaining many different types of vessels and to his long-term familiarity with the very beautiful waters of the Virgin Islands. Arno and his wife Petra, a highly skilled chef, accepted the position, making way for a happy blend of Captain, accomplished chef and sleek motor yacht.
Since then, Arno and Petra have fallen in love all over again, but this time with Obsession.
Chef Petra not only has a contagious laugh and engaging personality but her cooking is enticingly delicious. As a professional chef and previous owner of two restaurants in Germany, Petra's talents totally transform Obsession into an intimate and elegant floating villa. Additionally, her experience working on several mega-yachts as chef over her many years in these islands, brings to her skills a wonderful melding of creativity and flexibility.
With their lively dispositions, ready smiles and their knowledge of and deep passion for the beauty of the sea and these tropical islands, ensures a predictable result. You will have the time of your life aboard Obsession!

Stewardess & 1st Mate Yvonne
Yvonne is originally from Queens, New York and also grew up in the Bay Area of California. At the age of 17, Yvonne went to the United States Coast Guard Academy where she graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Government and a commission as an officer of the U.S. Coast Guard. Her first assignment was a ship driver onboard a 213’ cutter homeported in Ketchikan, Alaska. Yvonne spent two years sailing around the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea, exploring the different parts of Alaska while conducting search and rescue and environmental protection missions. In 2008, Yvonne was transferred to Charleston, South Carolina where she worked as an instructor and school chief at the Coast Guard’s law enforcement academy.
In 2011, Yvonne decided to follow her passion for adventure and traveling and left the U.S. Coast Guard for greener pastures and bluer waters. She landed in the British Virgin Islands where she completed her Divemaster certification and where fate led her to her current position onboard Obsession. Yvonne currently holds a USCG 100-ton Captain’s license and hopes to continue her career upon the high seas.
Yvonne’s hobbies include anything outdoors and/or on the water including SCUBA diving, swimming, hiking, paddleboarding, triathlons, climbing, and whatever other mischief she can find. Yvonne loves meeting new people and finds it a joy and a privilege to be a part of a guests’ dream vacation. Whatever she can do to make your experience onboard a memorable one, whether it be exploring the natural beauty of the underwater world or serving a five star meal with first class service, she will be ready with a positive outlook and bright smile!
Stewardess & Mate Aisling
Aisling’s family are all keen sailors and she grew up on the water. She is a dinghy sailor and raced at international level during her teens. She also worked as a sailing instructor in her home county of Dublin, Ireland. After completing her degree with honors in Communications she decided to pursue a career in yachting. After arriving in the Caribbean in October 2010, she has confirmed her passion for life onboard and she finally can show off her extensive hospitality experience! Since then she was worked on many private yachts, both motor and sail and has fine-tuned her silver service skills. Her passion for making and creating new cocktails will ensure that her guests always leave with great memories!!!
Aisling has 3000nm under her belt and is currently preparing for her Yachtmaster which she hopes to complete in 2012. While she enjoys serving and entertaining her guests she also enjoys spending time with the children on board, she considers herself somewhat of a master sandcastle-builder! Aisling enjoys running and nearly all watersports, particularly kitesurfing and dinghy sailing. Combining her attention to detail and love of the ocean she looks forward to giving you a full Irish welcome!
